Centennial’s Karyn Buckley Honored as Unsung Hero of the Year by the Marathon Wild Bird Center

We at Centennial are really proud of our employees.  They help customers, they help each other and in this case, they help animals that can't help themselves.  Our very own Karyn Buckley was honored last week as Unsung Hero of the Year by the Marathon Wild Bird Center in Marathon, Florida.

A Centennial Bank operations associate by day and animal rescue volunteer during her other available time, Karyn cares for and helps rehabilitate wild birds from around the Keys. Karyn began volunteering at the Marathon Wild Bird Center a little over four years ago, two days after Hurricane Wilma.  The Marathon Wild Bird Center is a 24-hour, seven day a week animal hospital.  They also help raccoons, possum and iguanas since the nearest mammal rescues are over 50 miles away.

Please join us in congratulating Karyn for not only being a great banker, but for giving her time and being an Unsung Hero to others in need.

Karyn is pictured below with a "baby" bald eagle that was rescued and will soon be rehabilitated for release.

NOTICE OF CHANGES IN TEMPORARY FDIC INSURANCE COVERAGE FOR TRANSACTION ACCOUNTS

All funds in a "noninterest-bearing transaction account" are insured in full by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation from December 31, 2010, through December 31, 2012. This temporary unlimited coverage is in addition to, and separate from, the coverage of at least $250,000 available to depositors under the FDIC's general deposit insurance rules.

The term "noninterest-bearing transaction account" includes a traditional checking account or demand deposit account on which the insured depository institution pays no interest. It also includes Interest on Lawyers Trust Accounts ("IOLTAs"). It does not include other accounts, such as traditional checking or demand deposit accounts that may earn interest, NOW accounts, and money-market deposit accounts.

For more information about temporary FDIC insurance coverage of transaction accounts, visit www.fdic.gov.
