Thursday, April 29th, 2010

It has been a wild afternoon in Conway, Arkansas.  The excited screams of 23 contestants filled the air at Toad Suck square downtown.  At noon, we kicked off our 2010 Stuck on a Truck competition.  The contest will most likely go through the weekend, so feel free to visit our Stuck on A Truck website to watch live via webcam.

We wanted as many people to feel the excitement with us, so we have provided a video (with music requested by the participants) and pictures below to see how we kicked off this years' event.  We will update this blog as quickly as we can, so come back to see what's new.  If you want up-to-the-minute updates, follow us on Twitter at @my100bank and @stuckonatruck. Stuck on a Truck Starts Today! Vote for Your Favorites and Support Local Charities.

Thursday, April 29th, 2010

Today marks the beginning of Stuck on a Truck at Toad Suck.  This is the tenth year of the competition.  It is sure to be an exciting time for the contestants, their families and friends.  Before all the excitement starts at noon today, we want to remind everyone of another reason Centennial Bank has this event: local charities.

Every player stuck to the truck has a charity they are paired with.  You can go to www.stuckonatruck.com and vote for your favorite.  You vote for your favorite by giving to their charity.  The player with the most votes wins a nice prize package and the charity they are paired with gets 100% of the proceeds.  In the past few years, we have raised over $7,000 for local charities, so go online and vote for your favorite contestant or charity!

Live coverage via webcam starts today at noon!  You can also follow the action on Twitter with @my100bank or @stuckonatruck as well as our facebook page.

Our blog will be updated soon with video and pictures of the kickoff!

Centennial Bank Helps Light Up Burns Park Soccer Complex With Donation

Tuesday, April 20th, 2010

Let there be light….for more soccer fields at Burns Park Soccer Complex that is.  Lighting was one of the major needs the city of North Little Rock had for the park.  Burns Park already boasts a great soccer park, but needed to light two remaining fields in order to have the capacity to draw larger tournaments to the region.

Frank Thomas, president for the Arkansas River Cities Sports Commission, Mayor Patrick H. Hays of North Little Rock, Bob Birch, regional president for Centennial Bank and many others met on field number one of the Burns Park Soccer Complex to formally announce the donation.

This donation will help the Burns Park Soccer Complex move much closer to their goal of lighting up two extra fields of play.

CENTENNIAL BANK DEDICATES OVER 200 VOLUNTEER HOURS CATERING TO LANDLUBBERS AT THE MARATHON SEAFOOD FESTIVAL

Thursday, April 15th, 2010

Centennial Bank, the Greater Marathon Chamber of Commerce and the Organized Fishermen of Florida joined forces recently for the 34th annual Original Marathon Seafood Festival. The Centennial Bank staff put in over 200 hours of community service as the Hospitality Wagon served up hot dogs, hamburgers, and Italian sausage and peppers for those whose palates sought something other than seafood.

Money raised by Centennial Bank was donated to the Greater Marathon Chamber of Commerce, which every year, donates to many local non-for-profits and charities such as Grace Jones Daycare, KAIR, FIRM, Habitat For Humanity; and provides local youth and non-profit groups opportunities to raise money at the annual seafood festival.

Junior Bankers from Key Largo School Visit Centennial Bank

Friday, April 9th, 2010

Last month, Centennial Bank welcomed Genessa Miranda and Noah Leach
as Junior Bankers for a day at the Key Largo community branch.  In addition to manning the drive-thru, Genessa and Noah counted money, learned how checks are deposited and learned the individual steps that make up various bank transactions.

The highlight of the day — holding $1000 dollars of cold hard cash in their hands!

NOTICE OF CHANGES IN TEMPORARY FDIC INSURANCE COVERAGE FOR TRANSACTION ACCOUNTS

All funds in a "noninterest-bearing transaction account" are insured in full by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation from December 31, 2010, through December 31, 2012. This temporary unlimited coverage is in addition to, and separate from, the coverage of at least $250,000 available to depositors under the FDIC's general deposit insurance rules.

The term "noninterest-bearing transaction account" includes a traditional checking account or demand deposit account on which the insured depository institution pays no interest. It also includes Interest on Lawyers Trust Accounts ("IOLTAs"). It does not include other accounts, such as traditional checking or demand deposit accounts that may earn interest, NOW accounts, and money-market deposit accounts.

For more information about temporary FDIC insurance coverage of transaction accounts, visit www.fdic.gov.
