Conway School Donates to the Vilonia Tornado Fund

The student council from Simon Intermediate in Conway donated $1,500.00 to the Vilonia Tornado Fund. The fund was opened at Centennial Bank to assist the victims of the tornado that hit the town on April 25th.

Centennial Bank Gives Back For Thanksgiving

Centennial Bank delivered 15 meals in a box to the Park Ridge Apartment Complex in Conway. A fire damaged much of the building on Monday, November 8th. Each box contains a turkey, dressing, cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes and gravy, casseroles, rolls and dessert. The families visited with Beckie Miles and Hallie Calvin, both from Centennial Bank in Little Rock.

Centennial Bank Day at U.C.A.

This year Centennial Bank in Conway did something new with the tickets that they receive for the UCA game. Local high school football teams received 25 tickets each and the coaches were given all access passes. This years game came down to the wire. The Bears beat the Mcness State Cowboys 28-24.

Veterans Day at Ed’s Bakery

Centennial Bank celebrated Veterans Day at Ed's Bakery in Conway with several local veterans. A memorial ceremony was held in remembrance of our veterans. Free coffee and lots of giveaways were enjoyed by all. Thanks to all of our Armed Forces and their families.

Food Drive at 501 Life Magazine

Centennial Bank served over 150 hot dogs to volunteers from schools in Faulkner County. Students boxed up several cans of food items that will be handed out this holiday season. This event is one of the largest food drives for the Arkansas Community Foundation.

A Centennial Thanksgiving 2010

Plans are well in the works for the 2010 edition of the Conway community Thanksgiving dinner on Thursday, Nov. 25.

Started about 20 years ago by Catherin and Bob Blankenship, the dinner is now sponsored by Centennial Bank and held at First United Methodist Church at 1610 Prince St. in Conway.

“When Catherin and Bob Blankenship announced that 2008 would be the last year they would organize the Thanksgiving dinner, we approached them about Centennial Bank assuming that responsibility,” said Lori Case, senior vice president for marketing. “This event is a testament to our community’s commitment to provide for those who are not able to share this special holiday with friends and loved ones.

“We have much to be thankful for at Centennial Bank and feel that is highly appropriate that we give back to the community that has given so much to us by organizing this meal of thanksgiving.”

The meal will be served from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

About 600 people were fed at last year’s Thanksgiving dinner, with 300 of those meals delivered. Organizers are planning to feed more people this year in light of the economy.

The dinner is co-sponsored by 501 LIFE magazine.

A special committee – chaired by Case – has been meeting for several months to plan this year’s event. “Everyone is welcome at this dinner, including those alone during the holiday and those in need,” she said. “We extend an invitation to the entire community to join us for a good meal and time of fellowship.”

A special phone number has been set up for those who would like to have a meal delivered to their home – 501.328.4859. The deadline to register is Friday, Nov. 19.

First Account Characters Visit Ida Burns Elementary in Conway

Friday October 30th Jeanne Love gave a presentation during a school assembly program for students at Ida Burns Elementary School in Conway. After Jeanne's presentation, first account characters Penny, Nick, and Buck made a special appearance to the kids. Centennial Bank partners with numerous schools throughout each community and teaches kids of all ages about the value of saving money.

Centennial Bank Purchased Livestock

Centennial Bank recently purchased the Reserve Champion Meat Goat at the 2010 Faulkner County Junior Livestock Auction. Miranda Reynolds of the Greenbrier FFA chapter received $800.00 that can be used to help her with the care and up keep of her champion goat.
