Choices…

Tuesday, November 22nd, 2011

We can all agree that people appreciate having options. Like single-cell amoeba and salesmen, they blanket the earth.

Choices are the foundation of daily existence for beings on this planet, human and non-human alike. And that's the way we like it.

In the course of a day, typical choices for a human being in this part of the world might include….Do I take Markham or Cantrell to work today? Do I want a burger or Mexican for lunch? Do I stay at the tailgate right up 'til kickoff or do I get into the stadium in time to see the Marching Razorbacks take the field?

These are typical options making themselves available, again, for folks in our part of the world.

Point is, we're faced with options everyday and really, must engage them just to survive. The option to get out of bed — perhaps, the option to go to bed — greets us every morning.

Those of us with money to invest — OK, those of you — have options. You can pay a steep broker's fee to get investment advice from Thurston Howell the Third, or you can see our investment professionals at Centennial. They have the same degrees, certifications and licenses as those other guys, can provide all the same investment and trust options, and chances are they're a lot more down to earth.

Doesn’t matter if you're a Centennial banking customer or not.

Of course, we'd love to be your full-service source of options. Like life, we enjoy providing them.

Mayflower Police Communicate Loud and Clear with a Donation from Centennial Bank

Wednesday, June 9th, 2010

Like many of our customers, safety and security are a main concern.  The Mayflower Police Department recently needed to upgrade their hand held radio's for in-car systems to better communicate with the main office and each other.  Centennial Bank, along with other community businesses were able to donate the funds needed to pay for the new radios.  The new radios have updated features and a much longer range.

Radio Personality Jeff Matthews Shares His Thoughts on Opening an Account at Centennial Bank

Tuesday, May 25th, 2010

We use a lot of different ways to get the word out about Centennial Bank's products and services.  One of them is radio.  When we sponsor someone to speak on our behalf, we only require a one thing: They must have a personal checking account with us. They are asked to communicate their honest experience when opening the account though video.

In the next few months, we will have more videos of our sponsored on-air talent and let them tell you their experience of banking with Centennial.  Jeff Matthews, radio personality with B.98.5 out of Little Rock is one of the first we will chronicle.  This was an unannounced and unscripted visit to our Main location in Conway.  See Jeff's thoughts on opening an account with Centennial below.

Ribbon Cutting Held for New DTLRCDC Partnership Sustainable Home

Thursday, May 20th, 2010

In February we told you about a unique partnership with the Downtown Little Rock Community Development Corporation (DTLRCDC) and The University of Arkansas Fay Jones School of Architecture. The goal of the partnership was to produce a sustainable, energy-efficient and modular home in the Pettaway neighborhood of Little Rock that could be replicated in the near future to help revitalize the South Main district.

The home was recently completed and formally opened with a ribbon cutting ceremony.  Arkansas Governor Mike Beebe and Little Rock Mayor Mark Stodola were among the many public officials in attendance for the celebration.  Congratulations to Quincy and Stephanie Scott, the new owners of the home.

NOTICE OF CHANGES IN TEMPORARY FDIC INSURANCE COVERAGE FOR TRANSACTION ACCOUNTS

All funds in a "noninterest-bearing transaction account" are insured in full by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation from December 31, 2010, through December 31, 2012. This temporary unlimited coverage is in addition to, and separate from, the coverage of at least $250,000 available to depositors under the FDIC's general deposit insurance rules.

The term "noninterest-bearing transaction account" includes a traditional checking account or demand deposit account on which the insured depository institution pays no interest. It also includes Interest on Lawyers Trust Accounts ("IOLTAs"). It does not include other accounts, such as traditional checking or demand deposit accounts that may earn interest, NOW accounts, and money-market deposit accounts.

For more information about temporary FDIC insurance coverage of transaction accounts, visit www.fdic.gov.
